San Diego Private Tour
If you want a private tour guide, call me at 1-231-Tim-Tour (846-8687) or send in your request using this contact form.
If you have a larger group and will need a charter bus, learn more about the private group tours I provide by chartered bus. I also provide sightseeing tours open to the public most afternoons. The excellent reviews received on these tours has encouraged people to request me as a private tour guide. Continue reading below to learn more about private walking tours and private vehicle tours I can provide lasting anywhere from two hours to a full day. I will customize the tour to match your interests.
Short Private Tours

The shorter private tours lasting about two hours are for visitors who want a private introduction to the amazingly beautiful area of La Jolla and/or Torrey Pines. I often serve tour guests who visit La Jolla year-after-year so don’t let the concept of an ‘introduction’ dissuade you since I always open visitors’ eyes to many scenic view points and fascinating historical facts they had never seen or learned on their previous visits.
Walking Tours of La Jolla
Guests typically join me for a two hour walking tour that will provide an introduction to the seals, sea lions, pelicans, and cormorants that live along the La Jolla coastline. Along the way, we will visit postcard perfect, scenic viewpoints that most people do not realize exist. We’ll learn about the pioneering women who shaped La Jolla into the vibrant community it has become today. We’ll also learn about some of fascinating history of national significance that has taken place in the area.
I’ll give you an introduction to the shops and art galleries in the Village. I can answer any questions you have about La Jolla or the greater San Diego area. I’ll also provide you an area map, visitor guide, and other resources to help you make the most of your visit to La Jolla.
Driving Tours of La Jolla and Torrey Pines
If you provide your own vehicle, I can serve as your private tour guide. During that time, I would recommend taking you to Mount Soledad and Torrey Pines. We will take a walking tour of Mount Soledad to enjoy 360 degree views over La Jolla and the greater San Diego region. I’ll talk about flying records set by both Charles Lindbergh and his wife when they flew off Mount Soledad, the geology of the area, and the one-of-a-kind War Memorial, which hosts the plaques of famous Veterans atop Mount Soledad. We would then work our way through La Jolla Shores over to Torrey Pines and make stops at the Torrey Pines Golf Course, home to the 2008 U.S. Open and the Torrey Pines Gliderport, home to paragliders flying off 300 foot / 90 meter ocean cliffs.
I am more readily available to provide private tours during the morning hours and I charge $120 unless it is a larger group. If you are interested, call me at 1-231-Tim-Tour (846-8687) or send in your request using this contact form.
Full Day Private Tour of San Diego

There are some days I do not provide a public sightseeing tour, which allows me to provide a private sightseeing tour of San Diego for you. Typically, I will spend 5 – 6 hours with guests who provide their own vehicle. The tour generally includes both the walking tour and driving tour of La Jolla, which was described above. In addition, I take guests through Windansea Beach, Bird Rock, Pacific Beach, Mission Bay, Downtown San Diego, Balboa Park, and Coronado. Along the way I will continue to share fascinating tidbits and stories about San Diego that have had an impact of national significance. Another good option would be to take a tour of the Northern San Diego coastline between La Jolla and Oceanside.
If there are other areas of San Diego you would like to explore in-depth, I can help arrange for other Private Tour Guides who have an expertise in those areas.
Full day private tours start at $275. For more information, call me at 1-231-Tim-Tour (846-8687) or send in your request using this contact form.
