Where is it: Torrey Pines (15 Miles / 20 Minutes North of Downtown San Diego)

Pro Shop Hours: Year-Round; Dawn – Dusk

Golf Course Rates: Play on the Torrey Pines North Course ranges from $24 – $50 for City of San Diego Residents and $60 – $125 for Non-Residents. Play on the Torrey Pines South Course ranges from $37 – $76 for Residents and $110 – $229 for Non-Residents.

Things to Do & See: Play golf on seaside cliffs overlooking the Pacific Ocean, which hosts the Annual PGA Farmers Insurance Open (formerly the Buick) and hosted the 2008 U.S. Open; Pick up souvenirs from the large Torrey Pines Pro Shop; Visit the Golf Course as part of my Coastal San Diego Tour.

San Diego Chargers Football at Qualcomm Stadium

Location: Mission Valley (7 Miles / 15 Minutes Northeast of Downtown San Diego)

Game Times: Generally Sundays from September to December at 1:15PM (More Details Below)

Cost: Game Tickets Start at $54. Parking Starts at $25. There are Several Transit Options Including the San Diego Trolley.

Features: One of the Top Teams in the NFL with an Explosive Offense and Marquee Players.

Location: Fashion Valley (6 Miles / 10 Minutes North of Downtown San Diego)

Open Daily: 10AM – 9PM (11AM – 7PM on Sundays)

Features: Most Upscale, Outdoor Mall in Southern California. Anchored by Bloomingdales, Neiman Marcus, Saks Fifth Avenue, Nordstrom, Macy’s, and J.C. Penney; Fashion Valley Mall offers 200 Stores, Restaurants, and a Movie Theater.

Antique Gas & Steam Engine Museum

Location: Vista (44 Miles / 50 Minutes North of Downtown San Diego)

Open Daily: 10AM – 4PM (Closed on Christmas and New Year’s)

The Wave Waterpark

Location: Vista (43 Miles / 45 Minutes North of Downtown San Diego); Near a Sprinter Train Station.

Open Daily: First Weekend in June – Middle of August; Generally 10AM – 4PM (Check schedule for specific hours and additional dates in May & September.)

Cost: Several options starting at $16 ($12 for Kids under 42″ and $11 for Seniors 60+). Parking is Free.

Location: Pala (53 Miles / 55 Minutes North of Downtown San Diego)

Gem Mining Hours: 10:30AM – 3PM on Sundays and Some Thursdays; Reservations Required.

Cost: $60 ($50 for Kids)

San Diego Railroad Museum and Train Rides
