Overview: San Diego is home to three (out of twelve) U.S. nuclear aircraft carriers, one of two U.S. Marine Corps Recruit Depots, the Navy Seals, and three of four U.S. Marine Corps Command Museums. That’s just for starters and doesn’t include the Coast Guard, Submarine Base, and the 125,000-acre, 60,000-employee Camp Pendleton.

San Diego is the birthplace of naval aviation and the cradle of army aviation. It’s remote location and ideal weather made San Diego ground zero for the development of American Military air power.

Today, the military and local defense contractors make-up San Diego’s largest industry and the world’s largest military complex. Local companies have developed and manufactured the B-24 Bomber, Atlas Rocket, and unmanned drones. Most of the classified high tech tools and spy satellites used by the military have also been developed by local companies and government entities, including the Space & Naval Warfare Systems Command (SPAWAR).

Come join us as we explore the past, present, and future of the American Military. We will go on guided tours of military museums and behind the scenes at local military bases. You will also have time to enjoy the spectacular views of the San Diego landscape, visit some of the top attractions, receive expert commentary, and enjoy special care.

Military Trips for Veterans and Those Who Appreciate the Tools Needed to Ensure Freedom

Military tourism is popular among veterans but it can also be a great experience for non-veterans as well. Meet other tourists who share a common interest of taking a historical military tour, visiting active military bases, and learning about the latest technological advancements being used for both military and commercial purposes.

Our military tours are led by local veterans who will give you insight into military history, especially as it relates to its extensive connection to San Diego. We will get an up close look at navy ships, tour an aircraft carrier, visit a Marine Corp base, and take a guided look through several military museums.

For out-of-town visitors, we also make time to explore other aspects of San Diego that make it one of America’s top vacation destinations.
