Overview: Come see and smell the flowers that made Encinitas, California the flower capital of the world and San Diego County the #1 producer of floriculture in the nation.

San Diego’s diverse landscape from coastal cliffs to canyons, mountains, and desert is home to 1,500 species of native plants and an additional 500 species of non-native plants. San Diego is one of the few places in the nation considered a biodiversity hot spot for plants. Whether it is a rare plant species or one of the most popular (50% of all holiday poinsettias sold in the world get their start in San Diego), you’ll have a rare opportunity to see them up close and in person when you join us for a five-day, six-night escorted tour.

We will feast our eyes on wildflowers that hug ocean cliffs and sprinkle the desert floor. We’ll go a behind the scenes with commercial growers in the flower capital of the world.  We’ll also learn about plants from other parts of the world when we visit San Diego Botanic Gardens and the world-class botanical garden at the San Diego Zoo.

Not only will you have time to soak in the beautiful colors of flowers and plants but you will have time to enjoy the spectacular views of the San Diego landscape, visit some of the top attractions, receive expert commentary, and enjoy special care.
