Highlights for Train Rides in Poway: Ride historic trains at Old Poway Park. The railway is owned by the City of Poway and operated by an association of volunteers. Each weekend, a different train is used to entertain visitors. Generally, on the first and third weekends of each month (except January and February), you will get to ride a 1907 Steam Locomotive. On the second Saturday of each month you can ride a Trolley built in 1894 and on the fourth weekend you can ride a 1950 Speeder. To read descriptions and see pictures for each of these, visit the Poway-Midland Railroad home page. You will also find a list of events and other trains in the process of being restored.
Each ticket gets you two laps around Old Poway Park. Rides last about 10 minutes.
Gift Shop – Take a look at Thomas the Tank Engine collections, train sets, and other train gifts for kids and enthusiasts.
Food – Old Poway Park is a nice place to enjoy a Picnic. Bring some food and a blanket and enjoy the afternoon watching the train chug through the Park.
