This page is for web developers. As a novice developer, I could not have built this web site without the help of all the web developers who have come before me. I greatly appreciate the generosity of all those who have designed programs or shared their knowledge for others to use. I take this opportunity to acknowledge the web development resources I have used to create TourGuideTim Reveals San Diego web site. I hope I can help pass along my new knowledge so that together we can all enhance the performance of web sites and make useful information accessible to as many people as possible.
Content Management System – WordPress – I started using WordPress to create a blog about unique aspects of San Diego. It has turned out to be a great tool for creating web sites as well. Thanks go to Matt Cutts at Google, whose blog Gadgets, Google & SEO persuaded me to use WordPress.
HTML, CSS, Javascript – SitePoint – I have purchased a number of books and read countless articles at the SitePoint web site. SitePoint made it very easy for me, a new programmer, to understand how to write code with a special emphasis on creating web sites that are accessible to as many users as possible. Thanks go to my friend Jorge Aulestia, who encouraged me to start writing my own code rather than outsource it to a third party. Now I’ll be in a much better position to communicate my coding needs and select an appropriate third party provider should I decide to take that route.
