TourGuideTim’s Famous Coastal San Diego Tours – Including La Jolla & Torrey Pines
More than a bus tour…It’s an Experience
We take you beyond the typical museums and attractions for a look at San Diego’s unique natural environment, multi-million dollar homes, and organizations seeking to develop the next big breakthrough.
Many ‘firsts’ took place in San Diego because creative geniuses were attracted to the area’s beautiful, natural environment for inspiration and developed many famous products, creative works, and notable discoveries. You will learn not only San Diego history, but American history.
We spend half our time off the bus to see what the locals get to see. Our tours include both a tour driver and an expert guide so any guests who have trouble walking can still enjoy the experience by having the driver show them around while the rest of us go on guided walks. Having both a driver and a guide allows us to provide a great experience, which is why we earn the best bus tour reviews in San Diego.

What kind of tour bus do you use?
We use comfortable, climate-controlled buses with enough room to stretch out and large windows so you can enjoy the views.
Do you offer morning tours?
We run our Coastal Tours in the afternoon because that is when you have the best chance of enjoying incredible views (instead of the morning fog), watching paragliders fly off the ocean cliffs in a coastal breeze (that generally start in the afternoon), and seeing seals and sea lions playing on the beaches (after their morning dive for food).
What happens if it rains?
It is rare to have rain in San Diego but if it does, you will still have a great experience on our comfortable, climate controlled, buses and we’ll provide umbrellas if you want to get out at the various stops. We may adjust the sequence of the tour stops to take advantage of breaks in the rain.
What else should I know?
Wear comfortable shoes. Bring a light jacket or sweater if you get cold easily as there is sometimes a cool coastal breeze on Mt. Soledad, even in the summer. You are welcome to bring a light snack or drink. We provide water, bathroom stops, and time for a late lunch or look through the shops and galleries in La Jolla. You will be able to leave your belongings on the bus at our various stops.
