Mega Yacht "ICE" in San Diego Bay

Located right on the walkway of one of the most beautiful harbors in the world and just north of the San Diego Maritime Museum, visitors can peer into the lives of the Rich and Famous.

The San Diego Mooring Company can host up to eight luxury yachts at a time. Yachts ranging from 100 feet – 400 feet will dock perpendicular to the walkway along the North Embarcadero. This is known as the Mediterranean Style of Mooring rather than the more traditional style of parking a yacht parallel to a boat dock.

The first two big yachts in San Diego Bay were the 252 foot Princess Mariana, owned by a Mexican billionaire Carlos Peralta Quintero and the 295 foot ICE, owned by a Russian billionaire and politician Suleyman Kerimov.

What to Expect

  • Yachts will generally stay in port a week or longer. (If you see a mega yacht in San Diego, be sure to let the rest of us know in the ‘recommendation’ section below.)
  • Bring your camera to take a picture of these beautiful luxury yachts that few people in the world will ever get to see with their own eyes.
  • Keep your eyes out for a helicopter on board since owners often ‘catch-up’ to their ships once their crews have moored the yacht in San Diego.
  • The yachts pull right up within a few feet of the sidewalk, where there is plenty of space to stand or sit and imagine what it would be like to enjoy life in the lap of luxury.
