Gondola Rides at the Coronado Bay Resort
by TourGuideTimLocation: Coronado Cays (11 Miles / 20 Minutes South of Downtown San Diego)
Rides Daily: 3PM – Midnight (Starts at 11AM on Weekends); Reservations are Required
Cost: Starts at $85 for Two People
Features: Romantic, Venice-Style Gondola Rides around the Loews Coronado Bay Resort
Gondola Ride Highlights: Spend a romantic afternoon or evening gliding through the waters around the Loews Coronado Bay Resort, which sits alone with a handful of homes in the Coronado Cays. In the distance, you can enjoy city skyline views of San Diego. The lights of the city make the ride all the more romantic at night. However, the evening rides fill up quickly, so make your reservations early. The nighttime is also quieter because there are very few other boaters.
You can have your gondolier play Italian music for you or allow there to be peace and quiet. For an additional fee, you can add a musician to your trip. The Gondola Company includes a choice of desert, such as a chocolate covered strawberries, or appetizer, like anti pasta. Guests will often bring a bottle of champagne to enjoy during their hour-long romantic interlude. The Gondola Company will provide the ice bucket and wine glasses.
For the evening rides, keep in mind there can be cool breezes on San Diego Bay, even during the summer time when temperatures typically start falling into the upper 60s. So, dress appropriately. The Gondola Company does provide a blanket for guests.
