temecula-wineryTemecula Wine Tour Highlights: Just north of the San Diego County border on highway I-15 is the Temecula Wine Valley. It has become a San Diego bedroom community and winemaking powerhouse over the past few decades.

Temecula is an inland community near the desert, which provides warm daytime temperatures. Unlike its immediate neighboring communities, the Temecula Valley benefits from canyon passes directly to the west. These canyon passes allow cool moist ocean air to sweep in between the mountains and bring cooler evening temperatures. The cool moist evenings followed by warm sunny days creates a perfect climate for winemaking.

Nearly two dozen wineries produce nearly as many award-winning wines in the Temecula Valley. Savignon Blanc, Syrah, and Zinfadel wines are among the popular wines produced in the area. Learn more about the Temecula Wineries from the Temecula Valley Winegrowers Association.

Several wine tasting tours are available to take tourists from San Diego up to the Temecula Wine Valley. Listed below is brief information on several of these wine tasting tours. SD Limo Bus has a great wine tour and brewery tour service for the San Diego area. They are very affordable and friendly.

  2. Paul says:

Wilson Creek is one of my favorite wineries in Temecula. Not only does it host hot air balloon rides, but they have a well-known, local favorite Almond Champagne. They have a great little picnic area and the last time I was there, construction for a beautiful, new restaurant and reception hall was almost complete. It’s definitely a romantic spot if you are looking to impress a date.
