Details for the Military Airshow over San Diego Bay

On Saturday, February 12, the largest military flyover since 1932 will take place over San Diego Bay. This aerial flyover will feature over 200 airplanes representing the Navy, Marines, and Coast Guard from pre-World War II to the present. It will include everything from historical aircraft to the Blue Angels.

Naval Air Station North Island will be open to the public starting at 8AM Saturday morning allowing guests to find a spot for the best views of the airplanes flying over San Diego Bay. Admission is free! (Grand stand seats will be sold at the event for $5 until all seats are sold. Otherwise, you can bring folding lawn chairs and blankets.)

The big airshow will start at 1PM and last upwards of three hours. (By the way, those of you living near Marine Corps Air Station Miramar will hear the roar of the planes as they use the Marine Corps Air Station to launch the parade of planes.)

Before and after the air show, guests can tour a nuclear aircraft carrier, USS John C. Stennis (CVN 74), an amphibious assault ship, and a guided missile destroyer. There will be several other exhibits and military demonstrations to enjoy as well.

Parking is free and public transportation is available.

I hope to see you there!
