World Renowned Chef Opens New Restaurant at Lindbergh

Chef Martin Yan at Restaurant OpeningPBS Fans of Yan Can Cook rejoice with the opening of his Yan Can Restaurant at San Diego International Airport. Chef Martin Yan has hosted over 1,900 episodes of his Emmy Award winning Yan Can Cook shows on PBS since 1982. You may also be familiar with one of his 28 cookbooks or line of kitchen tools.

Lindbergh is the first airport in the world to host a Yan Can Restaurant. It is located in Terminal One before you reach the security line. The 1,750 square-foot restaurant will feature traditional favorites such as Kung Pao chicken, Mongolian beef and specialties including chicken lettuce wraps, veggie spring rolls and crispy pot stickers.

    I tried out the Cashew Chicken while my wife had chicken lo mien. We were both very happy with our meals and plan to stop by Yan Can Restuarant whenever we need to grab food for a flight.

    The restaurant and separate bar hold an ample 88 guests. You’ll will find booths and tables. It is a great location for people-watching. You will find the restaurant in Terminal 1, next to the security gate for Southwest Airlines.

    We found the service to be extra friendly. The bar has two flat screen TVs that were tuned into ESPN. Yan Can also sells fruits and delicious looking baked goods you can take on your flight.

    The restaurant and bar are definitely a nice addition to the San Diego Airport.
