San Diego Company Wins Green Enterprise IT Award

Deloitte Consulting and the Uptime Institute have awarded Hewlett Packard the Green IT Beyond the Data Center Innovation Award. Hewlett Packard is in the process of installing 6,000 solar panels on its San Diego facilities, which will provide more than 10% of its energy needs. You can read more about Hewlett Packard’s solar power project in San Diego from ZDNet. This project will be one of the largest corporate solar powered installations in the country.

This corporate award for use of solar power comes on the heals of a local San Diego home winning the title of Home of the Year due in part to its use of solar power. Maybe San Diego can become recognized as #1 in Solar Power.
